Just in time for July lake traffic - our north public access kiosk is now in place (with pertinent materials) in the spot designated by the DNR. At the LLAA Annual Meeting in 2012 three volunteers stepped forward to build the kiosk in order to improve communication with those who enter the lake at this access point. Thank you to Dick Longtine, Bill Cowman and Jeff Bjorkman! We also appreciate Northland Lumber's great pricing for the materials used to build the kiosk.Dick Longtine assembled the kiosk in 50 hours this (2013) Spring. Bill Cowman did the priming and painting in 10 hours. Dick, Bill, and Jeff Bjorkman, with a little help from Jeff's green tractor, installed the kiosk in a group total of 14 hours. Long Lake will definitely benefit from this new communication tool - thanks again to our volunteers.
