About the Highway 20 Cleanup
The Long Lake Area Association participates in the Minnesota Adopt-a-Highway program and maintains a seven-mile stretch of County Highway 20 along the east side of Long Lake. Each spring and fall, LLAA volunteers pick up trash along this stretch of road, helping keep our community beautiful and preventing litter from entering Long Lake and the surrounding landscape.
Next Cleanup Date & Location
We host two Highway 20 roadside cleanups each year, typically one in the spring and one in the fall. Exact dates and times are announced in the LLAA newsletter and on this page when scheduled.

Why It Matters
Thank you to everyone who helped this spring, including volunteers who collected roadside litter and even found $5, which was donated back to LLAA!
Our spring and fall cleanups are essential. Each season brings an accumulation of roadside trash and debris. By working together to clear this seven-mile stretch along County 20, on the east side of Long Lake, we’ll not only make our area look better, but more importantly, we’ll prevent harmful litter from entering our beautiful lake. These are fantastic opportunities for Long Lake Area Association (LLAA) members, their friends, and family to contribute to the health and beauty of our community.
How to Volunteer
Can’t Make It to the Main Event? No Problem! If you’re unable to join us on the scheduled cleanup day but still want to help, please email Jaimie Beretta at volunteer@longlakeliving.org in advance. She can assign you a specific section of road that you can clean at your convenience.
