Environmental Stewardship

For more than 50 years, the Long Lake Area Association has worked to protect Long Lake’s water, shoreline, fish and wildlife while supporting its recreational use and enjoyment.

Environmental Stewardship and the LLAA

LLAA works with volunteers, local partners, and government agencies to understand and protect Long Lake. These efforts include water quality monitoring, aquatic invasive species prevention and management, fisheries and wildlife stewardship, and helping property owners protect shoreline habitat and water quality.

The LLAA Foundation provides significant financial support for this work, particularly watercraft inspections, AIS monitoring and management, and water quality monitoring. Grants and other funding sources also help support these efforts.  Learn more about current grant funding.

Environmental Stewardship Partners

LLAA works with local, county, and statewide organizations to protect Long Lake, including Henrietta Township, Hubbard Township, Hubbard County Environmental Services, the Hubbard County Coalition of Lake Associations (HCCOLA), Minnesota Coalition of Lake Associations (MNCOLA), and Minnesota Lakes & Rivers (MLR).
