Flotilla

Long Lake 4th of July Flotilla (Boat Parade)

The Long Lake July 4th Flotilla (Boat Parade) is a fun community tradition where residents decorate their boats and cruise the lake together on Independence Day.

• Decorate your boat and join the fun! The flotilla begins at 4:00 pm on July 4th.
• Additional details for the 2026 Flotilla will be posted in early June.
Please note: If inclement weather (high winds, rain, or thunderstorms) is forecast at 3:00 pm on July 4th, the Flotilla will be canceled.
• Participants are encouraged to review boating rules and regulations in the DNR 2024 Minnesota Boating Guide.

2025 Flotilla Recap

The weather report was wind and possible thunderstorms, but on the 4th the sky seemed to clear at 3 and winds seemed a bit calmer. So the Flotilla was on! Many families motored over to New Frontier Resort to gather for the start of the Flotilla at 4 pm.

Most boats chose the southern route this year. We welcome ideas for encouraging more participation along the northern route in future flotillas.

Wendy Kooyer took pictures for us this year. We combined them into a short video with some patriotic music. A few moments from recent flotillas are shared below.
