Long Lake Stewardship & Management Plan
LLAA developed its first comprehensive Lake Management Plan in 2010, revised it in 2014, and completed the current update in 2025. The plan provides a framework for protecting Long Lake and guiding the association’s stewardship priorities.
Executive Summary
The 2025 Lake Management Plan identifies priorities and strategies for protecting Long Lake’s water quality, fisheries, wildlife, shoreline, and recreational value. The report notes improving water quality and continued monitoring for aquatic invasive species, along with efforts to protect wildlife habitat and support the lake’s fishery through DNR-approved stocking. Shoreland stewardship, responsible lake use, public education, and community involvement are also important parts of the plan. Together, these efforts provide a framework for keeping Long Lake healthy and enjoyable for future generations.

Long Lake has the following characteristics:
- Surface Area: 1,926 acres.
- Depth: 31-foot mean depth; 135-foot maximum depth.
- Shoreline: 18.91 miles of shore length.
- Littoral Area: 468 acres.
- Community: Approximately 500 families own 609 parcels within 100 feet of Long Lake.
